Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention (ASAAP)

Alliance for South Asian Aids Prevention (ASAAP) is the only organization in Canada with a focused mandate to provide South Asian populations with HIV and AIDS related services. Over the last 25 years, ASAAP has evolved into a highly impactful and accomplished organization that remains rooted and responsive to community.

Vijaya Chikermane has been a passionate collaborator and worker in the fields of HIV/AIDS, sexual health and gender equity in Toronto and internationally for over 11 years. ASAAP was awarded this grant to enable Vijaya to attend the International AIDS Conference in South Africa. The professional development opportunity is one that will expand ASAAP’s international reach to benefit diaspora South Asian communities.
