This program is a specialized component of the Toronto Sport Leadership Program that provides additional opportunities for Aboriginal youth. 20 Aboriginal youth were trained in the National Coach Certification Program, Basketball, Soccer and Lacrosse, as well as Aboriginal Leadership, First Air, and High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development. They had practical work experience through the North American Indigenous Games hosted in Toronto in 2017. Program graduates qualified for employment with Recreation at City of Toronto. 90% of participants have a better sense of their career and academic path since attending the program and 50% found meaningful paid work within six months of graduation.
