David Suzuki Foundation

The David Suzuki Foundation (DSF) is one of Canada’s leading environmental organizations. Through a combination of sound science, active public outreach, and working co-operatively with business, the David Suzuki Foundation works with Canadians to take action on the environmental challenges we collectively face. The Homegrown National Park Project in Toronto, which Jode oversees, has tapped local creativity and ingenuity, implementing over 50 green interventions and planting over 15,000 native species.

Jode Roberts is a community organizer and advocate who is bridging the gap between grass and concrete, urbanism and environmentalism. DSF was awarded this grant to support Jode’s knowledge exchange with experts in planning, design, and education in the U.S.A. through a course with the renowned Project for Public Spaces in New York City. Jode is expanding the impact of the Homegrown National Park project with his new relationships and learnings of best practices.
