Heritage Toronto

Heritage Toronto celebrates, interprets, and educates for Toronto’s cultural, architectural, archaeological, and natural heritage. It is an arms-length charitable agency of the City of Toronto, established in 1949 as the Toronto Civic Historical Committee. The organization is recognized across sectors as an official voice of Toronto’s collective past.

Kaitlin Wainwright is passionate about shedding light on Toronto’s underrepresented history and is bringing heritage projects into the 21st century. Heritage Toronto was awarded this grant to support Kaitlin’s enrollment in Ryerson’s Nonprofit Management courses, digital media courses at OCAD University and to attend a conference for international professionals in the heritage sector, and participate in a mentorship program through Concordia University on Oral History and Digital Storytelling.
