The Triple Effect Fund started with Sally Ng making a commitment to a cause she believed in at the end of 2019. At this time, The Triple Effect Fund will focus its granting on underrepresented entrepreneurs.

As a first-generation immigrant from Malaysia, she has seen the struggles first-hand of what her parents have been through when it came to resources. She has helped create entrepreneurship centers and programs across Atlantic Canada and has witnessed the challenges entrepreneurs face regularly.

Therefore, she picked a cause she cares about and figured out a way to give back to it, “I care about underrepresented entrepreneurs and I love Atlantic Canada.”

The goal of the Triple Effect Fund is to grow the endowment each year, thus being able to magnify its impact for years to come. At the moment, the fund can provide one or two small donations per year. However, in the long run with the help of others and the entrepreneurial community, we see the potential for the fund be magnified through other social finance initiatives.

This Fund’s granting purpose is subject to change at the request of the Donor Advisor.
