The overwhelming number of compelling Toronto’s Vital Signs (TVS) Grant applications we received this spring told us two things: that demands on community organizations remain high; and that community-informed solutions are working, but there’s potential to do even more with more access to funding. We wanted to find a way to make that happen.
More than 30 different Field of Interest (FOI) funds* made it possible to extend support to an additional 26 organizations working across the city and a wide range of issue areas—from climate action workshops for culturally rich, low-income communities, to advancing menstrual equity, to a resident-led initiative fostering civic engagement.
FOI funds are made possible with the generosity of fundholders, including those who chose to leave a legacy gift. Grants are made on behalf of these donors, continuing support for their passions and commitment to the community for years to come.
Learn more about our 26 new grantees in the list below and consider supporting them as well.

*FOI Funds have been entrusted to be granted at the discretion of Toronto Foundation. Fundholders identified the causes they care about. Toronto Foundation matched those priorities with the most urgent community needs — and selected grants accordingly.
As we are in the process of redesigning all of our grant programs to better align with our new strategic plan, we chose not to run a formal stream for our Field of Interest (FOI) Funds* this year and instead direct those resources toward the TVS “runners-up”.
