Olivia Rourke Foundation was created to honour the life and legacy of Olivia Kimberly Rourke, who was tragically taken from us far too soon on May 23, 2025, at the age of 17. Olivia was returning home from a softball tournament with her coach and teammates, proudly representing Walkerton District Community School, when the unthinkable happened. Her loss has touched hearts across the country and forever changed the lives of those who knew and loved her.
In her short but vibrant life, Olivia left a mark that will never fade. She was a spirited and loving daughter, sister, teammate, and friend—known for her gentle kindness, sparkling sense of humour, determination, and generous heart. Whether excelling in the classroom, competing in gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, softball, and track, leading a cheer at a sporting event, or baking for those she loved, Olivia lived each day with passion, laughter, and compassion. She had a rare gift for encouraging those around her to step beyond their comfort zones, inspiring others to try new things with confidence, curiosity, and a sense of adventure.
The Olivia Rourke Foundation was born from an outpouring of support and the desire to keep Olivia’s light shining. It reflects the values she held dear and the many ways she lifted those around her. Through the Foundation, we aim to carry forward Olivia’s joy, spirit, and sense of purpose by helping others find the same opportunities she cherished.
At this time, the foundation will focus on empowering youth-led community initiatives, advancing women in sport, and funding cancer-related charities and research. These are the places where Olivia found friendship, belonging, inspiration, and a sense of possibility. It is our mission to offer the same to others in her name.
Olivia’s impact lives on in the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the quiet strength she showed in both ordinary and extraordinary moments. She taught us to live fully, love fiercely, and never miss a chance to bring joy to others.
