Our investment approach: collective investing
The Community Capital Pool (CCP) is Toronto Foundation’s pooled investment fund, built on a simple belief: shared assets create shared wealth for our communities.
Collective (or pooled) investing offers benefits that help your fund grow, and the CCP’s strong—yet responsible—returns, means our fundholders have even more to give back to their communities.
We’re home to philanthropists, foundations, charities and governments, pooling their resources alongside each other to build a more community-centered future.
Our OCIO, RockCreek Canada
One of the benefits of pooling assets is gaining access to internationally renowned Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO), RockCreek Canada.
Founded by the World Bank’s former treasurer and chief investment officer, RockCreek has helped us re-imagine our investment strategy for more aggressive, yet responsible, financial returns.
Because our pooled fund totals more than half a billion dollars, it gives fundholders access to competitive asset classes like private equity—fueling returns most couldn’t reach through a donor-advised fund at a bank.
A leader in responsible investing
Working with Toronto Foundation’s Investment Committee, they are helping advance our “do no harm” approach as we steadily increase the share of our assets that are responsibly invested—toward our goal of 70% by 2031.
