“My grandmother lived in Chinatown her whole life, and I love this neighborhood dearly. The community looked out for her when she wandered the streets, often helping her when we weren't around. The old Furama would leave end-of-day buns at her door, the manager of Sky Dragon took her to the doctor, and called us when she fell in the elevator. She was able to thrive and age in place because of the community that surrounded her. This is such a special place, and I want to see it continue to thrive."

The Toronto Chinatown Stewardship Fund was created by Toronto Chinatown Land Trust members to support initiatives that strengthen the social, economic, and cultural wellbeing of Toronto's Chinatown through community stewardship of affordable and community-serving spaces, housing, education and programming.
Our work is about stewarding land, relationships, and community life in ways that are culturally grounded, community-led, and rooted in collective care – a reflection of the same values, networks of support, and mutual aid that have always defined Chinatown. Together, we have built strong community relationships, developed programs and partnerships, and have created a clear vision for how we can support Chinatown to continue to thrive across generations.
We are now at an important moment of growth – moving from organizing and visioning into sustained action. Your support is crucial to making this possible.
Your donations will help us build a foundation of sustained capacity and infrastructure so that every opportunity, partnership, and investment has a lasting impact. For our community, it means more meaningful participation in land decisions, stronger tenant transitions into non-profit stewardships, and clearer pathways for community members to engage in activities that reflect the collective needs and sense of belonging that define Chinatown.
If you would like to donate by cheque and receive a tax receipt, please make the cheque payable to the Toronto Foundation and include a note in the memo line indicating that it is for the “Chinatown Land Trust Stewardship Fund.
