“When we give, we gain.” This simple yet powerful idea sits at the heart of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026. As the world marks 115 years of celebrating the achievements of women, it’s an opportunity to reflect on how each of us can help move that progress forward.
Progress is powered in many ways — through donations, shared resources, advocacy, volunteering and mentorship. When those efforts back organizations advancing women and gender equity, they help open doors, amplify voices and strengthen communities for everyone.
Across Toronto, organizations are advancing gender equity in countless ways. Some are creating positive sports experiences for Muslim women and girls. Others are leading law reform efforts or using art to help women share their stories. These examples offer just a glimpse of the work happening across our city.
This IWD, consider what you can give — and what we all gain when you do.
